The Way of Art is the Way of Buddha
by: Kerry Marshall
Some years ago I acquired from a friend a log of Mendocino Cypress . After milling the log, this small left-over piece caught my attention and has sat in my shop ever since.
Recently I have been working on a series of wood carvings using gouache and graphite as a surface through which I carve. I have been studying Japanese calligraphy for many years and decides that this Zen statement was a perfect complement for this beautiful piece of wood.
