Kerry Marshall
Working with wood involves me with the ever-changing and growing energy of nature. Wood as a medium is always in transition as it reacts to the surrounding environment and it is this natural reaction that constantly inspires and challenges me as a furniture maker. My furniture also showcases the abundant and diverse native tree heritage found within northern California.
I was born in Palo Alto, California in 1942 and have lived and worked in northern California my entire life. I graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in art; studied sculpture at the Valand Art School in Sweden; and recently completed the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking program.
I have a small woodworking shop here in Mendocino where I work on custom furniture, doors and screens. I also offer small hands-on woodworking classes throughout the year.
